Start Your Day Right
Begin your morning with a delicious breakfast at my favourite café in Pai—Time Cafe & Bistro just off Walking Street. Their pesto sandwiches and iced lattes are simply unbeatable!
First Stop: Wat Phra That Mae Yen
After breakfast, head to Wat Phra That Mae Yen, also known as the Big Buddha Pai. Entrance is free, but remember to bring covers for your shoulders and knees, as there’s a small charge for robes if you need one.
Next: Pam Bok Waterfall and Bamboo Bridge
Return to town and head east toward Pam Bok Waterfall and Bamboo Bridge. The entry fee for Pam Bok Waterfall is 100 baht (about €2.70) per person. While it’s a lovely spot, you might consider skipping it in favor of some of Thailand’s more impressive waterfalls. Be aware that there are varying reports about the entry fee for foreigners, so if they attempt to charge you more than 100 baht, it’s worth moving on.
On the other hand, the Bamboo Bridge (just 6 minutes up the road) is a must-see! The entrance fee is only 30 baht (about €0.80). This charming, rickety bridge winds through a rice plantation, offering plenty of scenic photo opportunities. The walk culminates at Wat Phaem Bok temple.
Hiking at Pai Canyon
Next, drive about 25 minutes to Pai Canyon for a short hike with breath-taking views. There’s a shop at the trailhead where you can stock up on water and snacks before hitting the trails. It’s a moderate hike out and back taking about 1 and a half hours.
Dinner at Two Huts
Cool down with a 10-minute drive to Two Huts, where you can relax and watch the sunset while enjoying dinner. Choose from hammocks in the huts or benches on the grass. It’s the perfects place to hang out with friends after a busy day of sightseeing. The live music, stunning views, and chill atmosphere will make you want to linger a little longer.
End the Day at BROS Bar
Finally, head back to BROS Bar in Pai Village to park your bike and unwind with refreshing drinks while enjoying live music. If you’re not ready to call it a night, dance your troubles away at Ganesh!
